About This Event

Join the Kennesaw Cemetery Preservation Foundation and the City of Kennesaw's Cemetery Preservation Commission for the first Symbols of the Cemetery Walking Tour on June 21 at 6 PM.

Gravestones throughout historic cemeteries are filled with symbols of life and death, but modern visitors may not be familiar with how to interpret these details. A dove for peace is obvious, but what does a hand pointing up mean? During this tour, attendees will learn about gravestone symbolism and what it tells us about the lives of various cemetery residents.

The tour begins in the parking lot of the Kennesaw City Cemetery. This walking tour is a little over a half-mile long and does not stay on the paved paths inside the cemetery. The tour will last about an hour and a half.
